Project awarded to OPENWORKSTUDIO

Sustainable communities specialised housing programmes design competition

Openworkstudio are pleased to announce that our project has been selected for the Sustainable Communities Specialised Housing Programmes Design Competition organised and initiated by the Housing Authority together with the Kamra tal-Periti. We look forward to work with the NGO Mid-Dlam ghad-Dawl in order to implement the project and are proud to be involved in such an initiative which is centered around the community.

To keep building on Mid-Dlam Ghad-Dawl’s vision the proposal responds to transgressions and trauma and seeks to illustrate an ordinary house, in which individuals become part of a community.

An ordinary house, which aims to create a shift, from punishment to integration and from a restricted space to an open space.

The proposal intends to provide the individuals with a series of spaces, from communal space to intimate spaces for self-reflection. It explores a way of modest living and invites the individuals to participate in completing the design and to become involved in the process of constructing their own spaces.
